Disney have really done it now with Solo...

Excellent film. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great acting, cool nods to Star Wars fans, tension, characters and script. Nice surprise at the end.

Had reservations after the TLJ, but they nailed it.

Anyone else seen it?

Really enjoyed Rogue One and Solo was equally as good, loved the little references to A New Hope in it.

I thought The Last Jedi was much better than The Force Awakens, which was just a pastiche of the original film. At least TLJ tried to move the story on instead of rehashing the same old storyline.

Solo? Probably the best SW film since Empire for me. Proper straight forward action and laughs with a couple of twists. I think after episode 9 they should call it a day on the skywalker saga. It’s done and has nowhere to go, which was probably true after ROTJ. Vader’s dead. Luke’s Dead. The tale is told.

Rogue One and Solo are far better than episodes 7 & 8 imo. More of those kind of standalone stories would suit me fine.

First 3 are amazing films

Phantom menace is fuck awful
Attack of the clon3s is somehow worse
Revenge of the Sith isn't good. But a world away from the other
force awakens shit
Rogue one ok.... the first time
Mainly due to 3rd act.
Last Jedi is fucking terrible. So very boring and hippy preachy

Done with Star wars now. Not bothering with solo

I am not going to pretend that Star Wars was not a huge part of my young life (and that is true of a great many people) but I feel I am pretty much done with it now.

I will have to finish the trilogy because I have to finish things I started (even Dexter) but the side stories have very little appeal to me.

Whether they don't fit into the politics of today or whether a mostly male audience is no longer good enough, the Last Jedi was a mess tonally because of what it tried to do.

These film were never high art but they had a simple story, good characters and were inspiring at a basic level.

TFA followed that formula but the TLJ did not and though it is technically a good film and well acted, it breaks down on continuity of characters and in some basic story telling.

I am an adult so I can't upset when something is not made for me anymore but it still leaves me a little sad.
